Plan International UK – What do girls really learn at school? Learn Without Fear
The Jury’s comments: This video highlights a worldwide problem, and reveals the gap between the idealized world and the real world. It manage to present girls’ daily struggles in both the developed and developing world.
The Jury’s comments: This video is a powerful way of changing the narrative of refugee reporting. People are refugees due to circumstances beyond their control, we are all human beings who deserve to be respected and live with dignity. The video communicate its message very effectively by showing how people get closer to each other.
“Love a Positive Life”
The Jury’s comments: This video can help break down prejudices and stereotypes against HIV by depicting the ‘positive’ daily life of an HIV positive woman who transformed her own life. The video gives a good amount of information about the situation for people living with HIV/ AIDS and is not presenting them as helpless victims, but empowerful individuals.
The Golden Radiator Award goes to the fundraising video using creativity and creating engagement. This kind of charity campaign is stepping outside of the common way with using stereotypes.
